This is the first attempt of my new idea for the Geisha project. I've decided to make it out of card and layer everything up. The red one was only a sample and it didn't work out.

While this one (may not be finished) I made after the red one worked out much more than the first one.  made this Geisha taller and better.

These are the three I have done so far and turned them into story pages I'm not gonna do all of the pages but I'm just gonna do the main parts which consists of Aareen the Selkie becoming human, the stranger appearing, tricking Aareen into trusting them, them getting married, Aareen finding her seal skin feeling betrayed and lastly Aareen returning back to the sea.
A new Selkie design and I wanted to give it a fairy tale story book feel to it as well as keeping in the Art Nouveau theme in.

This is the first Geisha for my final piece. I wanted to go for simple colouring and using a floral pattern to stand out more.

I was having a go at drawing the lineart with the darker colour of that area. I drew a cyclops because I wanted to draw something cute.

This was mainly me having a go at semi realism.
The second WIP I have done all three of the ladies and now I am just going to work out the backgrounds.
Since i'am using Geishas now I have been doing a study of Geishas and the Japanese trees and these are the three sketched and notes I have done of the Geishas.
I have noticed that the way I've drawn the hair and kimonos and faces have changed and they are slowly looking like the nymphs that I originaly designed but I believe that the Geishas work alot better.

WIP
Here is three of the four ladies I have been working on so far. For the kimonos I used textures then coloured the rest in myself. Right now I'am working on the Geishas and I shall worry about the backgrounds which have the seasons on later.
For my college work, I was originally going to use wood nymphs but when I decided to make a dressing screen I found ones which had Geishas on them and I realised that the nympths had a look of Geishas and they do work well with nature. When you see painting of a Geisha she is always in a garden so I gave it a go of the four seasons with Geishas and I'am very proud of this piece.

This is a drawing all in biro, there are a few mistakes but I do like to practise just in biro most of the time,  it helps me to try and make less mistakes and to hopefully get the proportions and the face features be in the right place.
With this piece I was experimenting with textures and I found a very nice skin texture. As you can tell I used the iconic image of Ziggy Stardust aka David Bowie.

This is a winter nymph that I am trying out for my current college project. I'am doing seasons and using nymphs to link it all together, this is a try of what I can put in the inside of the nymph using the words winter in bold white font, but I'am not sure that this is the best font to be using, next one I do will be a different font and I will probably spend more time on choosing the type face for this.

This one is one of my good interests. I have always loved the idea of pirates and when I wanted to try out with shading the first thing that came to my mind was a pirate watching the sun rise, different kinds of shades on her skin and clothes. How I got this was starting with the base colour of the skin, then copied the skin/ clothes colour layer and made that layer darker, and I repeated this process till I was happy.

With this, I was experimenting with darker block of colour over a lighter block of colour and I used my character to test this out, and since he is a secret agent I thought it would actually make a decent cover for a secret agent book, though the image would have to be sorted out, the proportions changed and made right of course.

A Flapper Girl, I drew to try out a new style of drawing profiles of people.

This is a selkie that i designed during my last college project about world cultures, I chose to do Selkies which are a folklore which comes from places like Iceland, Scotland and other places like that. With this piece I used Alphonse Mucha as a influence to draw this.

With this piece I was experimenting with background and of a limited colour pallet. I wanted this to have a cold, frosty look to it and I do believe I have done this quite well with how I coloured it.
